microgreens

First blog - What are microgreens?

It's 2026, so that means it is time to get on that New Years 2023 resolution and start a blog. I think the best thing to start with is the thing I am asked the most about, What are microgreens? I have a break down below.

Microgreens are baby plants harvested right after sprouting—bigger than sprouts, smaller than baby greens, and way more impressive than their size suggests.
Think of them as plants in their prime 🌱
The quick breakdown
🌿 What they are: Young greens harvested 7-40 days after planting
✂️ How they’re grown: In soil or grow media, cut above the root. Robby Ds Lil Greens only uses organic seeds and organic soil, to make sure the highest quality and most nutritious microgreens
🥗 How they’re used: Toppings, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, soups—basically anything
Why people go nuts for them
💥 Nutrient-dense: More concentrated vitamins & antioxidants than full-grown greens
👅 Big flavor: Peppery radish, nutty sunflower, mild broccoli, sweet pea—no “sad salad” vibes
👀 Look fancy: Chefs love them because they make plates look fancy
